It is a license issued by the state government in accordance with the Companies Act 2006. The information requested on the certificate of incorporation form may vary from one state to another.   • Pan of Company: PAN is 10-character alphanumeric number by the Indian Income Tax Department, required for income tax purpose.
  • Tan of Company is a 10-digit alphanumeric number. Issued by Income tax department and is required by those who are responsible for tax deducted at source (TDS).

Modification of Certificate of Incorporation

Certificate of Incorporation that act as identity of the business organisation can be modified if the company wishes to change the name of the company. For this the business must check the availability of the new name, conduct an EGM, pass a special resolution and apply to the Registrar for approval of the new name under Rule 29 of the Companies (Incorporation) Rules 2014. After getting approval from the Registrar a new certificate of incorporation will be issued.In case of modification in the name of the company, the Certificate of incorporation will not be modified. The address mentioned on the certificate of incorporation is on the date of incorporation and hence no changes can be made retrospectively.
